“Milkshake” singer Kelis, 43, addressed rumors that she’s been dating actor Bill Murray.
The performing artist did not confirm nor deny the gossip that has been circulating for weeks other than to say on social media that she and Murray, 72, are both “happy.”
“Lol yeah maybe for now everyone’s dumb and will believe anything but the best part is we are both blessed, rich and happy,” Kelis responded to one fan comment on Instagram.
A fan also commented, “Ma’am would you care to address these Bill Murray allegations?!? Cuz damn! What he doing with all that?!?” after the singer posted a bikini photo to Instagram while vacationing with her children in Greece. Kelis replied, “lol no babe, I wouldn’t bother at all.”
The rumors began when The Sun published an article based on an unnamed source who claimed the pair have been “getting close for a while.” Kelis and Murray have been photographed together multiple times, including at her concerts, but neither has said whether their relationship is platonic or romantic.
The source went on to claim the duo bonded over losing loved ones recently. Kelis’s husband, Mike Mora, passed away last year at the age of 37 after battling stomach cancer. Murray’s older brother, Ed, also died recently.
Fans in the comments noted that the two could just be friends. “Why, if you’re friends with someone, do people automatically assume you’re dating?!? Come on, guys and ladies can be just friends. Ugh,” one person wrote.
Others said either way, it’s none of their business. “We should be celebrating this woman. Nothing more and nothing less.”

“Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap,” the source told The Sun.
Kelis is mom to son Shepherd, 7, and daughter Galilee, 2, whom she shared with Mora. The “Trick Me” singer also has a son, Knight, 13, with her ex-husband Nas.
Murray is a father of six sons ranging in age from 41 to 19. His oldest two are with ex-wife Margaret Kelly while the other four he had with his second wife, Jennifer Butler.
