A growing number of liberal white women — from Democratic strategists to the ladies of &#8220;The View&#8221; — appear to be turning on Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner.
The Bernie Sanders-backed leftist is seeking to rally establishment support as a wave of opposition research uncovers personal misconduct and raises questions about his suitability to serve in the U.S. Senate.
Over the weekend, The Daily Wire exclusively <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/see-it-graham-platner-has-active-profile-on-predators-paradise-messaging-app">reported</a> that Platner created an account on the Kik platform, which the National Center on Sexual Exploitation has described as a “predator’s paradise.” The revelation followed another weekend disclosure that his wife, Amy Gertner, previously flagged messages that her oyster farmer husband exchanged sexually explicit texts with as many as a dozen women.

Shannon Watts, a prominent anti-gun activist, argued that Platner&#8217;s scandal-plagued campaign reflects a double standard.
&#8220;This has nothing to do with sex but with double standards. Women have come a long way in 30 years and expect more from men and for ourselves,&#8221; she <a href="https://x.com/shannonrwatts/status/2061195196038103406?s=20">said on social media</a>. &#8220;Imagine AOC wearing a bikini in a selfie on an app targeted at teen boys and admitting she had sexted several people outside her relationship. The blowback would never end.&#8221;
Platner has already faced intense scrutiny over his Nazi tattoo, derogatory social media posts about women, and his mocking of a wounded American soldier — a bridge too far for &#8220;The View&#8221; co-host Sara Haines.
&#8220;This is a problem. The Purple Heart recipient, by the way, the video he insulted, was a man who took fire to save his team, and he said, &#8216;This stupid guy should have died. It&#8217;s only because they didn&#8217;t have good aim that he&#8217;s here.&#8217; If you are capable of saying that at any time in your life, you&#8217;ve shown me who you are, and I heard you,&#8221; Haines said to the table.

A divide appears to be deepening between the far-Left progressive base and a Left-leaning commentary class focused on the party’s broader brand.
“And I will say, as a Democrat, I find it really problematic when we stand by people who do not pass muster when it comes to some basic judgment and moral values. We stand by them because they’re on our side. How is that different than Republicans doing the same thing? I find it really problematic,” Democratic activist Lauren Leader-Chivee <a href="https://x.com/tomselliott/status/2061449971862274317?s=20">said</a>.
Democratic strategist Melissa DeRosa took a step further, describing the Maine Senate race as a Democratic Party &#8220;civil war.&#8221; 
&#8220;There are a lot of moderate Democrats like myself who will not cry tears should we lose Maine,&#8221; she said.

Platner is expected to cruise to victory in Maine’s Democratic primary on June 9 after his top rival, Governor Janet Mills, suspended her campaign. The Maine governor — recruited by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer — said Monday that Democratic voters <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-am-still-on-the-ballot-janet-mills-reappears-as-platner-stumbles?author=Drew+Berkemeyer&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=12&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=%E2%80%98I+Am+Still+On+The+Ballot%E2%80%99%3A+Janet+Mills+Reappears+As+Platner+Stumbles">still have a choice</a>.
“People have the impression that I withdrew or dropped out, but I simply suspended active campaigning. I am still on the ballot,” she told a local outlet.
