Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, was banned temporarily from Instagram after violating company policies, according to Page Six.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed Wednesday night that the account @kanyewest, which boasts 15.6 million followers, was temporarily deleted for “violating policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment.” He is unable to post, comment or send DMs for 24 hours. The company confirmed they will take additional steps if Ye continues to violate the platform’s rules.

The situation began when the “Donda” rapper allegedly posted a photo of comedian Trevor Noah along with a caption that used racial slurs. Page Six said the caption replaced the lyrics to “Kumbaya” with, “All in together now… K*** baya my lord k*** baya K*** baya my lord K*** baya Oooo’ lord K*** baya.”

The rapper was banned for using the racial slur “k***” in the lyrics. West’s post was likely a response to Noah’s remarks about the drama in the rapper’s personal life.

“It’s spun into a story that seems fully tabloid but I think deserves a little more awareness from the general public. … I know everyone thinks it’s a big marketing stunt,” Noah said during an episode of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.”

“Two things can be true: Kim likes publicity, Kim is also being harassed. Those things can be happening at the same time.”

“What [Kardashian is] going through is terrifying to watch, and it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave,” Noah continued.

The host went on to compare West and Kardashian’s situation to his own childhood, when his mother wasn’t believed about her abusive relationship. He said she was accused of “overreacting” up until his stepfather shot his mom Patricia in the head. She did survive, but Noah said it all could have been avoided.

“As a society, we have to ask ourselves questions. Do we wish to stand by and watch a car crash when we thought we saw it coming?” Noah said on the show.

Meanwhile, tensions between West and Kardashian have been making headlines every week, with many of them stemming from social media posts. The rapper most recently posted a photo of his 8-year-old daughter North’s backpack and claimed he hadn’t seen her in a week. Kardashian left a comment asserting this was all made up.

West wrote in the caption, “This was on my daughters back pack when I was ‘allowed’ to see her last week[.] This is why I go so hard for my family I am wired to protect my family at all cost[.] As the priest of my home Don’t worry Northy God is still alive.”

Kardashian replied by saying, “Please stop with this narrative, you were just here this morning picking up the kids for school.” Her clapback received more than 100,000 likes.
