CAMP: It’s 2018, And The Genocide Against Infants Prenatally Diagnosed With Down Syndrome Continues

   DailyWire.com

In anticipation of World Down Syndrome Day on March 21, a group of 50 moms whose children have Down syndrome recorded themselves and their children performing a “carpool karaoke” of Christina Perri’s hit song “A Thousand Years.”

As many in the Down syndrome community have verbal difficulties, the “carpool karaoke” utilized a form of sign language called “Makaton,” which is meant to accompany speech.

While it’s certainly important to showcase the societal contributions made by individuals with Down syndrome, it’s just as vital that we remind the world that people with Down syndrome are intrinsically valuable as human beings.

Prenatal detection of Down syndrome has led to a genocide of the preborn in many developed nations. As The Daily Wire previously reported:

In the U.K., approximately 90% of infants prenatally diagnosed with Down syndrome are terminated, according to the National Down Syndrome Cytogenetic Register (NDSCR). In Iceland, nearly 100% of women whose unborn children test positive for Down syndrome choose abortion. In Denmark, the figure is approximately 98%; in France, 77%. Even in the United States, it’s estimated that approximately 67% of infants prenatally diagnosed with Down syndrome are terminated, according to CBS News.

Preborn children diagnosed with Down syndrome are being targeted and terminated in otherwise humane countries like Finland, the U.K., and the United States. This is unacceptable.

On World Down Syndrome Day, we cannot simply “raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome, and how people with Down syndrome play a vital role in our lives and communities,” as stated by the official WDSD website; we must make the world aware of the disturbing truth that there is a genocide against those with Down syndrome happening right under our noses.
