Last week, videos of unidentified flying objects posted by a group headed by Blink-182 singer and guitarist Tom DeLonge were confirmed to be authentic by the U.S. Navy.

In statements exclusively obtained by The Black Vault, a site dedicated to declassified government documents, three bizarre videos posted by To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science (TTSA) were confirmed as authentic sightings of “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAP); it was also made clear that the videos were not supposed to be released to the public.

The videos, which were also published by The New York Times, were leaked in December of 2017, The Black Vault noted, adding, “the three videos are commonly referred to as the ‘FLIR1,’ ‘Gimbal’ and ‘GoFast’ (the third being released in March 2018).”

“The Navy designates the objects contained in these videos as unidentified aerial phenomena,” confirmed Joseph Gradisher, spokesperson for the deputy chief of naval operations for information warfare.

“The ‘unidentified aerial phenomena’ terminology is used because it provides the basic descriptor for the sightings/observations of unauthorized/unidentified aircraft/objects that have been observed entering/operating in the airspace of various military-controlled training ranges,” he explained.

Gradisher added that the “Navy has not released the videos to the general public.”

The clips are “the first official evidence released by the U.S. government that can be rightfully designated as credible, authentic confirmation that unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) are real,” TTSA said. The group previously said the videos were declassified, a claim contradicted by Gradisher.

“The reason why I’m talking about it is to drive home the seriousness of this issue,” Gradisher told TIME magazine. “The more I talk, the more our aviators and all services are more willing to come forward.”

“Gradisher would not speculate as to what the unidentified objects seen in the videos were, but did say they are usually proved to be mundane objects like drones — not alien spacecraft,” the TIME report said. The spokesperson noted, “The frequency of incursions have increased since the advents of drones and quadcopters.”

“Incursions by [unidentified aerial phenomena] represent a safety hazard to aviators and security issues for operations,” Gradisher explained. “The Navy is investigating the incursions seen in the three videos.”

Speaking to Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, former British defense official Nick Pope underscored the significance of the Navy confirmation.

“Up until this point, the Navy has said very little and in fact, they’ve left the door open sometimes,” Pope said, adding, “Now, what they’ve done is turned around and said — number one, ‘this is real’. And number two, this is ‘unidentified alien phenomena.'”

“These aircraft carriers that many of these UFOs have been interacting with — obviously these are billion-dollar assets — and if the official position of the most powerful Navy in the world is frankly little more than ‘we don’t know what this is’, I don’t think that’s good enough,” the former British defense official added.

After Gradisher confirmed the videos, TTSA wrote in a Facebook post: “The Navy says the UFOs in Tom DeLonge’s videos are ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.’ U.S Navy has officially acknowledged that UFOS are real and violate American airspace.”
