WATCH: Trump Hilariously Trolls Dems’ Sullen SOTU Reactions With R.E.M.’s ‘Everybody Hurts’

Everybody hurts … sometimes. Especially Democrats watching President Trump deliver an epic smackdown on everything near and dear to their blue hearts at the State of the Union Address.

In true Trumpian fashion, the president demonstrated once again his extensive knowledge of internet troll culture when he tweeted out an edited video from self-described “memesmith” Carpe Donktum that featured stone-faced Democrats reacting negatively to his State of the Union address as R.E.M.’s hit 1993 rock ballad “Everybody Hurts” plays over the soundtrack. Behold the troll master at work:

Reactions to the video broke along party lines. Supporters of President Trump were quick to write “Lol” or any laugh emoji in the iPhone library. Opponents of Trump reacted with anger.

“Dear Heartless Republicans, This is what a real ‘National Emergency’ looks like, and it’s coming from the White House! #FakeTrumpEmergency,” said Hill Reporter co-founder Ed Krassenstein as he linked to an article about children separated at the border.

“You literally don’t care one bit about the U.S. Constitution. You don’t care about Americans, and you don’t care about the children of this world. You are a National Emergency,” he continued. “Posting a video with nice music, doesn’t turn a monster into an angel.”

Some even accused the video of deceptive editing; Rant Media Editor-in-Chief Ahmed Baba said: “Disingenuous editing. Places Dem reactions in places where they weren’t. It’s no wonder President Trump tweeted this after his humiliating performance in the Rose Garden. In a lot of ways, I pity Donald. Such a sad existence to have your value derived from your fragile ego.”

In fact, the Democrats clapping at literally nothing positive Trump had to say about his presidency were some of the top trending stories after the SOTU Address. Indeed, the most disturbing moment of their stone-faced tirade occurred when President Trump openly defended the unborn that night.

“There could be no greater contrast to the beautiful image of a mother holding her infant child than the chilling displays our nation saw in recent days,” President Trump said. “Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments from birth. These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and dreams with the world. And then, we had the case of the Governor of Virginia where he stated he would execute a baby after birth. To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb. Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life.”

As noted by The Daily Wire’s Amanda Prestigiacomo, the Democrats, other than Joe Manchin of West Virginia, were motionless.

“Nearly all female Democrats remained stone-faced when President Trump spoke of protecting the life of pain-capable unborn babies (as well as when he cheered low unemployment for minorities and the disabled and urged the fight to end sex trafficking), while they cheered wildly for themselves – the only point during the entire highly bipartisan speech they felt so compelled to enthusiastically cheer,” Prestigiacomo reported. “Nearly all Democrats were visibly upset at Trump’s remarks to call for the protection of pain-capable babies and their mothers from gruesome, complication-prone late-term abortion. The Women in White were, again, stone-faced.”
