WATCH: Sandmann’s Lawyer Releases Video Of Media Smears Of Covington Kids

The lawyers representing Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann and his family have reportedly sent letters to 54 organizations and individuals, including media personalities and Democratic politicians, threatening potential legal action for libelous statements about the high school junior and his classmates. The lawyers have followed up the revelation of the list with a damning 14-minute video containing clips of many of the false allegations leveled at the teens.

“The legal counsel representing Nick and his family, Todd McMurtry and experienced libel and defamation lawyer L. Lin Wood of Atlanta, have said they will seek justice for the harm allegedly done to the teen,” The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Friday. McMurty said his legal team “has been working full-time to review the media accounts of what happened,” the outlet reports. “This week they have prepared documentation preservation letters addressed to organizations and individuals they believe may have defamed or libeled Nick with false reporting.” (See full list below.)

As The Daily Wire reported, the letters come in response to a series of false accusations and reports leveled at Sandmann and his fellow Covington high schoolers over their encounter on January 19 with Native American Nathan Phillips. The teens, some of whom were wearing MAGA hats in support of the president and as a memento of their trip to the March for Life, were standing outside the Lincoln Memorial when the racist Hebrew Israelites — who even the left-wing SPLC condemns as a hate group — began harassing the boys with racist and homophobic statements, calling them “little dirty a** crackers” and calling them “f***ots.” In response, the boys began to perform a pep rally chant to drown out the hateful rhetoric.

Somehow, interpreting the situation as the boys supposedly harassing an innocent minority group, Phillips walked up to the boys and began banging a drum and chanting, at times getting just inches from Sandmann’s face. Confused, the boys began to chant along, some apparently thinking Phillips was on their side. As the full video evidence shows, a couple of the teens did the tomahawk chop, but none said or did anything as overtly racist or offensive as alleged by Phillips and early reports; in fact, they were the target of such abuse by the radical group. Sandmann simply stood there smiling in what he described as an attempt to de-escalate the situation.

But as Sandmann’s lawyers make clear in a video titled “Nick Sandmann: The Truth in 15 Minutes,” Phillips and a reckless and biased media told a very different story after the first carefully cropped video of the incident went viral. “A mob rushed to judgment to wrongfully condemn, threaten & vilify Nick Sandmann based solely on an out-of-context video clip,” wrote Wood in the tweet containing clips of potentially libelous misreporting. “It only takes 15 minutes to learn the truth. Here it is.”
