WATCH: MSNBC Host Says Attack On Rand Paul Is Her ‘Favorite’ Story, Spreads Fake News On Motive

An MSNBC host took great joy in reporting on the attack of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who suffered multiple broken bones when his Democratic neighbor assaulted him earlier this month.

MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt said that the attack that left the Republican Senator with six broken ribs and a damaged lung was “one of [her] favorite stories.”

“New details today on the incident that left Senator Rand Paul with six broken ribs – this might be one of my favorite stories,” Hunt said enthusiastically.

Paul, 54, was attacked by his neighbor – 59-year-old registered Democrat Rene Boucher – while he was doing yard work on November 3.

Authorities have already stated that they believe the attack was politically motivated but that did not stop Hunt from claiming that the attack was sparked by grass clippings.

Police arrested and charged Boucher with fourth-degree assault, releasing him shortly afterwards, when he posted $7,500 in bail.

The attack was serious, Paul has said that he has had difficulty breathing and has been in a lot of pain since the assault.

“From my perspective, I’m not really too concerned about what someone’s motive is. I’m just concerned that I was attacked from the back and somebody broke six of my ribs and gave me a damaged lung where at least for now I have trouble speaking and breathing and now I’ve hurt for 10 days,” Paul said.
