As a way to promote his new Kid Rock American Badass Grills, which are emphatically made in the U.S.A., Rock decided it was high time to show China who’s going to be winning the trade war from here on out. (Hint: Donald J. Trump is the president of the country.)
To help do just that, Rock set up a massive catapult, got a gorgeous southern girl to provide some narration, scrounged up a few China-manufactured grills, and pulled out some shotguns.
“You know what’s American?” says the female video host. “Catapulting foreign-made grills through the sky and shooting them down — because they stink! If it’s not made in America like the Kid Rock American Badass Grill, you don’t want it.”
“This is what we think of ‘Made in China!'” Rock declares as he blasts away, adding afterward, “In your face, China!”
In a statement released with the ads, Rock admitted that while it costs more to make things here, we need to be committed to helping create more jobs in the U.S.
“I’m not gonna lie. It is more expensive to make things in America,” he said. “But it’s important to me. I love America, and I want to do all I can to create manufacturing jobs at home.”
