The son of a woman killed when jihadist-hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center slammed Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) during a 9/11 memorial on Wednesday for callously referring to the 9/11 terrorist attacks as an event where “some people did something.”

“Good morning, brothers and sisters in good faith — listen, some people did something,” Nicholas Haros Jr. told a crowd during the annual anniversary ceremony at Ground Zero.

“Some people did something, said a freshman congresswoman from Minnesota, to support and justify the creation of [the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)] — today I am here to respond to you exactly who did what to whom,” he continued. “Madam, objectively speaking, we know who and what was done. There is no uncertainty about that. Why your confusion?”

Haros’ remarks were in response to a keynote speech that Omar delivered in March to fundraise for CAIR. The Minnesota congresswoman faced massive backlash after a video from the event surfaced where she was shown urging Muslim Americans to “raise hell” and further downplaying what happened on September 11th, 2001.

“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” Omar said at the time.

While the comments received widespread condemnation, Omar’s fellow “Squad” members Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) swiftly came to her defense. Tlaib appeared on news programs accusing critics of taking Omar’s words out of context and having a bias against women of color.

Both Omar and Tlaib are vocal supporters of CAIR, a notable pro-Palestinian organization with longstanding ties to Islamic terror groups. The U.S. Department of Justice listed CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator in funding millions of dollars to Hamas as part of the 2008 terror financing bust of the Texas-based Holy Land Foundation.

Ocasio-Cortez also backed Omar after Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) called her comments “unbelievable.” Ocasio-Cortez fired back, accusing the former Navy SEAL of not properly supporting 9/11 victims and first responders.

Crenshaw, however, served five deployments overseas — and while on his third combat tour, he was hit by an IED blast during a mission in Afghanistan that destroyed his right eye and badly injured his left eye. After multiple surgeries, Crenshaw regained sight in his left eye and went on to deploy overseas two more times.

“On that day, 19 Islamic terrorists, members of al-Qaeda, killed over 3,000 people and caused billions of dollars of economic damage. Is that clear?” Haros said. “But as to whom, I was attacked, your relatives and friends were attacked, our constitutional freedoms were attacked, and our nation’s founding on Judeo-Christian principles were attacked.”

“That’s what some people did. Got that now? We are here today, congresswoman, to tell you and the Squad just who did what to whom,” he continued. “Show respect in honoring them please. American patriotism in your position demands it.”

Omar and Tlaib became America’s first Muslim congresswomen after winning their respective elections in 2018. The duo, along with Ocasio-Cortez, have been embroiled in allegations of anti-Semitism and have expressed anti-American sentiments since taking office.
