On Wednesday morning, Twitter suspended an account that was live-tweeting the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, who is accused of child sex trafficking as a part of her role as convicted child molester Jeffrey Epstein’s right-hand woman and confidante. Television cameras are not allowed in the federal court in New York City where the trial is taking place and the account @trialtracker quickly became popular for its updates on the historic proceedings.

Internet commentator @shoe0nhead flagged the suspension, saying, “Twitter just suspended the account that was live tweeting updates from the epstein/maxwell trial.”

It is unclear why Twitter suspended the account, though in the past week a number of anonymous Twitter accounts have been suspended, either temporarily or altogether.

As Shoe pointed out, the account does have another account where readers can follow along, “their backup is @trial_tracker follow @jkbjournalist, @innercitypress and my personal favorite @TrueAnonPod for trial updates as well because we live in circus world where the public is not allowed to see this trial,” Shoe tweeted.

Maxwell Trial Tracker News’s Twitter bio says the account is “tracking the Ghislaine Maxwell trial. All major media outlets are silent on it. Politicians are using their power within the system to silence the truth.”

The Daily Wire has two reporters covering the trial on the ground. On Tuesday, The Daily Wire reported on testimony from one woman who said she was raped by Epstein as young as 14 years old while Maxwell watched:

Another accuser of Ghislaine Maxwell broke down on the stand during an emotional roller coaster of a day 7 in her trial in lower Manhattan on Tuesday. The woman facing Maxwell from the witness box used only her first name, Carolyn, and wove a dark and disturbing tale of sexual abuse.

Carolyn, in her 30s and wearing a pink and black striped white sweater, was visibly uncomfortable from the moment she walked in the courtroom. With a quiet and shy tone, she told the jury that she had first met Epstein when she was a 14-year-old from a poor and broken family in West Palm Beach.

The Daily Wire added that Carolyn was “defiant” in her testimony:

The other witness on Tuesday was FBI analyst Stephen Flatley who testified to the veracity of several emails and documents found on a hard drive registered to Maxwell.

These included emails about maintenance of the Palm Beach estate as well as a list of 16 shampoos and 13 massage products Epstein liked and a flyer that read, “Help Wanted. Are you a massage therapist? Work in a Palm Beach home. Excellent pay. Mostly weekends.” It included a phone number and instructions to leave a message.

But the day belonged to Carolyn. And it looked like a hard one for her. Very near the end, Comey on redirect asked her if she was doing this, testifying, for money. In a rare loud and defiant moment, while absolutely sobbing she replied, “Money will not ever fix what that woman has done to me. What she did was wrong.”

It is not known if the original Maxwell Trial tracker account will be re-instated by Twitter.
