The National Trumpquirer, aka The National Enquirer, unsatisfied with publishing a sordid and false accusation that Ted Cruz had a series of extramarital affairs, is now doing its chosen candidate’s dirty work for him again, alleging a connection between Ted Cruz’s father Rafael and the JFK assassination.
The Trumpquirer states breathlessly that Rafael Cruz was photographed alongside JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald — “just three months before the assassin killed President John F. Kennedy!”
The Trumpquirer boasts that the photographs were found in “secret U.S. government files,” hyperventilating, “Top D.C. insiders have confirmed to The ENQUIRER that ‘the man in the photograph is indeed Rafael!’” In chilling tones, the Trumpquirer continues, “The investigation into the mystery man who might very well be Rafael Cruz provides a potentially chilling look at the family history of the Republican presidential candidate.”
The Trumpquirer endorsed Trump on March 8, ordering, “TRUMP MUST BE PREZ!” The rag then listed various reasons why the Orange-Haired One must be president, including, “Nobody understands the economy better than this self-made billionaire, and only he is willing and able to fix it,” “He will chase down illegal immigrants and toss out the criminals who came streaming through our open borders,” “Only Trump has the guts to stand up to foreign leaders like Vladimir Putin—and gain their respect!”
Does anyone take the Trumpquirer seriously? For a moment, let’s consider whether the folks at the Trumpquirer were dealing with reality when they praised Trump:
Nope.
Trump doesn’t understand the economy; as Tim Worstall pointed out in Forbes, Trump “thinks that a declining currency makes a nation richer: not so, entirely the other way around. He also seems to think that changes in currency rates change the number of jobs in a country. Again, not so, they can change the type of jobs but not the number. And all of this is pretty much first year economics so we really would rather like a putative chief executive to get this.”
Trump himself reportedly admitted to The New York Times that his opening tough salvo on illegal immigrants could be softened.
The Trumpquirer has as much credibility as their chosen candidate does when he claims he’s a conservative, so this latest “shocker” isn’t much of a surprise.
Trump has spoken well of Putin, saying, “I’ve always felt fine about Putin. He’s a strong leader, he’s a powerful leader. … He’s actually got popularity within his country.” He’s even praised the Chinese government for their monstrous action in Tiananmen Square, saying, “When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength.” Oh, he’ll stand up to Putin, all right.
The Trumpquirer has as much credibility as their chosen candidate does when he claims he’s a conservative, so this latest “shocker” isn’t much of a surprise.
But to Trumpsters, the Trumpquirer reads like Holy Writ.
