Texas Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick called President Joe Biden and his administration the “blue Grinch” over his doom and gloom message to destroy Christmas hope during recent remarks over the spread of the Omicron variant.
Patrick shared the remarks during a Tuesday night interview Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” with Tucker Carlson.

“They are the blue Grinch that wants to steal Christmas,” Patrick said, focusing his message on hope in America.
The Texas GOP leader also noted that hope has been a trademark of America’s past presidents during difficult times.
“We had presidents who inspired us, whether it was Roosevelt who said, ‘The only thing we have to fear is fear itself,’ or what Bush said after 9/11,” Patrick said.
“If you have hope and strength, you have peace. But this president does not know what that is,” he added.
Patrick’s remarks come after Biden’s dismal words during a speech last week regarding the Omicron variant.
“I want to send a direct message to the American people: Due to the steps we’ve taken, omicron has not yet spread as fast as it would have otherwise done,” Biden said.
“But it’s here now, and it’s spreading, and it’s going to increase,” he added.
Biden later referred to a “winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated.”
“We are looking at a winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated – for themselves, their families and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm,” he added. “But there’s good news: If you’re vaccinated, and you have your booster shot, you’re protected from severe illness and death,” the president said.

The dismal words led to harsh criticisms across the nation. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said, “President Biden’s warning of a ‘winter of severe illness and death’ makes President Jimmy Carter’s ‘malaise’ speech urging Americans to lower expectations seem a cheerful upper by contrast.”

The comments follow a report last week that Biden’s approval rating dropped yet again in a new Rasmussen poll revealing 58% of Americans disapprove of the president’s job performance.
“The latest figures include 20% who Strongly Approve of the job Biden is doing and 48% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -28,” according to the Thursday daily Presidential Tracking Report.
