A new survey reveals just how badly millennials have been indoctrinated. Not only do they have an affinity for socialism, more of them actually believe that former President George W. Bush killed more people than Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin.
The survey, conducted by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC), which partnered with YouGov, found that 45 percent of the youth said they would vote for a socialist and 21 percent said they would vote for a communist. Additionally, 53 percent of millennials said that America’s capitalist system “works against me.”
Millennials also tended to agree more with statements from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) than economist Milton Friedman, 71 percent to 58 percent, respectively. Only 55 percent felt that communism is a problem, compared to 80 percent of baby boomers.
The survey disturbingly reveals a lack of understanding of the evil of communism among millennials. About one-third, 32 percent, think that Bush is responsible for the deaths of more people than Stalin, while only 25 percent of all respondents knew that communism is responsible for the slaughter of over 100 million people.
Even worse, most millennials were not familiar with brutal communist dictators throughout history. Here are the percentage of millennials familiar with the following mass murderers:
- Mao Zedong: 42 percent
- Che Guevara: 40 percent
- Vladimir Lenin: 33 percent
- Stalin: 18 percent
“One of the concerns the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation has had since its establishment is that an emerging generation of Americans have little understanding of the collectivist system and its dark history,” Marion Smith, executive director of VOC, said in a statement. “Unfortunately, this Report, which we intend to release on an annual basis, confirms this worrisome impression.”
Indeed, the report’s findings are reflective of other surveys showing a growing tendency of millennials warming to socialism. This is what happens when the left has taken over academia, the media and Hollywood: the younger generation becomes indoctrinated in the progressive ideology, which necessarily requires the downplaying or concealing of the horrors of Karl Marx’s destructive philosophy.
The consequences could be dire, as the millennial generation is filled with future voters and leaders. Unless they are presented with the truth about Marxism, the country’s freedoms are in danger.
“Forget waiting on the world to change,” writes Nicole Russell in The Federalist. “It’s time to change it. This starts with teaching millennials the truth about socialism before they rule the population into ruin.”
