On Sunday, gunfire erupted at City Hall Parkade in San Diego, just three blocks from the finish line of a San Diego marathon. According to reports, a cop was wounded and the suspected shooter, a female, is in police custody.
According to Fox 5, reports of gunfire were first reported at 11:30 a.m. local time, temporarily pausing the Rock ‘n’ Roll full and half marathon. The shots reportedly started at 11:09 a.m.
A woman who was reportedly shooting from the eight floor of a municipal parking garage has been taken into custody. According to the San Diego Police Department, the suspect was “firing rounds and holding a gun to her mouth,” reports the news station.
Police have confirmed that an officer was accidentally shot during the active shooter situation and is being treated for the wound at a nearby hospital.
The female suspect was “contained” around noon.
