Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) predicted on Thursday that President Donald Trump will see a massive increase in his support from the black community on election day, and that the increase in support will lead to a second term in the White House.
“President Trump will see a 50 percent increase in his African-American support,” Scott told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto. “It will go from 8 percent in 2016 to a minimum of 12 percent in 2020. He may even get to 15 percent of the African American vote, and that is game over.”
When asked what led him to that conclusion, Scott said, “Well, listen to what the Democrats are saying. They have top tier candidates that say redlining was a good thing, having a negative impact on African American home ownership.”
“And what is President Trump doing during the same time?” Scott continued. “Simple. He had an executive order to increase affordability of home ownership, and African American home ownership since he took office is up about 2%.”
“President Trump is not just talking a good game, he is walking a good game,” Scott concluded.

“After two recent polls revealed the strong support President Trump has among black voters, with the Rasmussen poll showing 34% percent and an Emerson University poll showing 34.5% support from black voters, another poll has been released showing the strong support for Trump among non-white voters,” The Daily Wire reported in December. “An NPR/PBS and Marist poll conducted November 11-15 found 33% of non-white voters approve of President Trump’s performance at his job.”
Other recent polls also are strong indicators that Trump has a strong chance to win re-election.
“President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has risen to 49%, his highest in Gallup polling since he took office in 2017,” Gallup reported last week. “His 94% approval rating among Republicans is up six percentage points from early January and is three points higher than his previous best among his fellow partisans. The 42% approval rating among independents is up five points, and ties three other polls as his best among that group.”
“Sixty-three percent of Americans now approve of the way Trump is handling the economy, up six points from the prior reading in November,” Gallup continued. “It is the highest economic approval rating not only for Trump, but for any president since George W. Bush enjoyed stratospheric job approval ratings in the first few months after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.”
“Now, 51% of Americans view the Republican Party favorably, up from 43% in September. It is the first time GOP favorability has exceeded 50% since 2005,” Gallup continued. “Meanwhile, 45% of Americans have a positive opinion of the Democratic Party, a slight dip from 48% in September. Additionally, the poll finds 48% of Americans identifying as Republicans or leaning toward that party, compared with 44% Democratic identification or leaning.”
A separate Gallup poll from last week found, “Nine in 10 Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in their personal life, a new high in Gallup’s four-decade trend. The 65% of U.S. adults who are currently ‘very satisfied’ marks a new high in the two-decade trend.”
