Senate Fast-Tracks Trump’s Judicial Nominees As Dems Cave

On Tuesday the Senate cut a deal to fast-track votes on 11 nominations to the judiciary, seven of which were President Trump’s nominees for district court judges.

Even one vote from a Democratic senator against the deal would have forced the Senate to consider the nominations one at a time, but no Democratic senator voted against the fast-track process.

Yet there was one clue to the Democrats’ willingness to go along with the GOP:

It would seem to be a possibility that the lower judges were bartered for the possibility that the Democrats could find something in documents related to Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, which could scuttle his nomination.
