On Tuesday, when a Seattle police officer asked for a box of chocolates at a local chocolate store, an employee reportedly responded, “No, I won’t serve you.”

According to The Post Millennial, the officer was accompanied by a trainee when they entered a store called Chocolati. After the encounter with the employee, whom The Post Millennial described as a “white female with green streaks in her hair,” The Post Millennial contacted the store. An employee told The Post Millennial, “Is this how you want to spend your time? Getting essential workers in trouble? Shouldn’t you be spending your time harassing homeless people?”

After the reporter for The Post Millennial then said they would attempt to contact the owner or manager, the employee agreed that would be a better idea, but then reportedly added, “… and go f*** yourself.”

The Post Millennial added, “Following the publication of this article, another police officer contacted The Post Millennial with a similar story from a different date where they were refused service at the Chocolati location on E. Green Lake Dr. N.”

The Post Millennial noted that according to sources at the Seattle Police Department, the police have the fewest deployable officers since the 1980’s.

Chocolati’s website states:

From its inception, the Chocolati team has strived to grow at a steady pace without compromising the the quality and personal attention that we give to all of our chocolates as well as our customers.Chocolati’s goal is to grow at a steady pace without compromising the quality and the personal attention we give to our customers and to our chocolates. As profitability increases, Chocolati’s mission is to give back to the community through donations to a number of selected local and national organizations. We believe that it is a company’s duty to support the communities that keep us in business.

The Daily Wire reported last October:

According to Jason Rantz of KTTH, at least 118 Seattle police officers have left the police department in 2020, with 39 of them leaving in September. Rantz pointed out, “The typical number for that month is between 5 and 7,” adding, “The mass exodus of officers started in May with 10 separations, followed by 16 in June, 10 in July and 14 in August. … The majority of the resignations and retirements were patrol officers.”

Seattle Police Officer Guild President Mike Solan told Rantz, “Your 911 call for help will go unanswered for a significant amount of time.” He added “This is fixable if our elected leaders start supporting police, instead of pandering to a large activist crowd that’s dividing us when we need unity. False narratives about good people doing policing, pushed by the defund movement, is making our public safety efforts devolve further.”

Also in October, The Daily Wire noted, “Riots broke out again in the Democratic-controlled city of Seattle on Saturday night, leading to more than a dozen people being arrested for a litany of alleged crimes. Photos taken by the Seattle Police Department showed graffiti spray painted on various buildings calling for police officers to be murdered.”
