Poll: More Trump Voters Say They’re Having A Good Year Than Clinton Supporters. So Do … Hispanics?

   DailyWire.com

To the chagrin of The Huffington Post, its new poll not only shows that Trump voters are sanguine about how 2017 has gone, while Hillary Clinton voters demur, but in a piece of news that had to be highly disturbing for HuffPo, Hispanics were more likely to say that it has been a good year than a bad year.

While Donald Trump has been pilloried repeatedly for his positions vis-à-vis Hispanics, whether it was his comment about some Mexicans being rapists or his insistence on building a wall on the Southern border of the United States, the expectation on the Left has been that Trump would be hugely unpopular with Hispanics. But no; 47% of Hispanics felt they were having a good or excellent year while 41% felt they were having a fair or poor year.

The poll reflected something truly surprising; for all of the rhetoric about the GOP favoring whites over people of color, the poll found Trump was underwater, 46%-48% with whites, while six percentage points to the good among Hispanics. Among blacks, only 25% felt they were having a good or excellent year; 63% felt otherwise.

Among Trump voters, 73% felt they were having a good or excellent year; only 25% felt they were having a fair to poor year. Clinton voters were 31% good to excellent, 65% fair to poor. Men were roughly split, 48% good to excellent and 46% fair to poor; 40% of women felt they were having a good or excellent year, while 51% disagreed.

Overall, roughly one-third of the public felt 2017 has been an excellent or good year for the U.S. as a whole, while 56% disagreed.
