Celebrities get a lot of flack from conservatives — and rightly so. Broadly speaking, Hollywood is rife with self-important progressive elitists who take every opportunity to promote causes anathema to conservatism, like abortion on demand. Many celebrities also have an affinity for mocking or outright condemning those who hold conservative positions (see: Joss Whedon calls those who want to defund Planned Parenthood “evil” and “inhuman“).
However, in a world in which the only intellectually honest thing to do is call balls and strikes, sometimes celebrities deserve praise for their good deeds. This is one of those times.
According to CNN: “Ariana Grande has called on her celebrity friends to join forces with her for a benefit concert honoring the victims and families of the Manchester terrorist attack.” The concert, called “One Love Manchester,” will feature Grande, Coldplay, Niall Horan, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, and others, and will be held on June 4th in Manchester.

This is not only a lovely thing to do, but a brave gesture as well.
Obviously, the security at the event will be staggering. However, to hold a concert in the city that just over one week ago was subject to an Islamic terrorist bombing is a courageous sign of defiance.
Sometimes, celebrities do good things.
