The New York Daily News continued its left-wing ideological crusade on Saturday, publishing an op-ed that derided a man murdered by the Islamic terrorists in San Bernardino, CA. The op-ed, written by Linda Stasi, declared that Nicholas Thalasinos – a “Born Again Christian/Messianic Jew” – was “just as bigoted” as Syed Farook.
Describing Thalasinos as a “hate-filled bigot”, Stasi implies that he had brought the mass murder upon himself. Stasi justifies this description with excerpts from the man’s Facebook profile, in which he expressed a wish to see Ann Coulter as “head of Homeland Security,” derision of the “Million Muslim March” (an event that was filled with racism and anti-Semitism), and a comment about God “blowing up Iran.”
Stasi described Thalasinos as “anti-government,” “anti-Islam,” “pro-NRA,” and “rabidly anti-Planned Parenthood.” Putting aside the mischaracterizations of the first two simplistic labels, Stasi is clearly indicting conservatives as the ideological counterparts of Islamic terrorists.
She also framed Thalasinos as a “male Pamela Geller.” Left-wing media outlets like CNN made similar implications following the attempted mass murder by Islamic terrorists at a Geller-hosted free speech event in Texas, suggesting Geller was responsible for the attempt on her life by mocking Muhammed with a cartoon contest. Inconvenient for the left’s predictable “gun control” proposals in the aftermath of such events, the Islamic terrorists were shot and killed before being able to carry out their plans at Geller’s event.
Interestingly, Stasi seems unsure of the motivations of the Islamic terrorist couple from San Bernardino, stating, “Whatever spurred the carnage, the end result was the murder and maiming of innocent people enjoying a holiday party.”
The op-ed follows two headlines from the newspaper in the past week, the first insulting religious people offering prayers for the victims and the second trivializing the threat of Islamic terrorism. The New Yorker followed suit with a headline connecting what the left views as a lack of “gun control” with Wednesday’s Islamic terrorist attack.
On Thursday, a CNN expert asserted that Syed Farook had likely been subjected to “anti-Muslim” sentiment at work, implying that the mass murder was a reaction to such bigotry. NBC’s Brian Ross – who attempted to link James Holmes to the Tea Party – implied that the mass murder was “workplace jihad.”
