Leave it to junior US Senator from Connecticut Chris Murphy, who famously sat on his tuchas calling for our constitutional rights to be taken away, to normalize insanity within the Democratic Party. Following General Flynn’s resignation as National Security Adviser, Murphy took to Twitter to express his desire to determine President Trump’s relationship with Russia.
Flynn’s departure only matters if 1) he’s followed by a mainstream, experienced replacement, 2) we get to bottom of the Trump/Russia story.

Unsurprisingly, he resorted to non sequitur by bringing up Trump’s tax returns, claiming that they are the central theme behind Donald Trump’s mounting controversies, including the latest ouster.
Your nightly reminder that at the center of this strengthening hurricane are the tax returns.

Suffice it to say, this is absurd. Trump’s cozying up to to Vladimir Putin likely has nothing to do with his decision to hide his tax returns. In addition, General Flynn’s possible violation of the Logan Act also has nothing to do with tax returns.
Nevertheless, Senate Democrats like Murphy are convinced that Trump’s tax returns could expose supposed collusion between Russia and the President of the United States. There is no evidence to support this theory; appealing to hyperbole only fires up the Democrats’ base.
Ironically, Senator Murphy seems about as interested in giving up his chew toy as most Americans are to giving up their constitutional rights to bear arms and due process. Murphy has spent much of his senatorial career trying to take those rights away. The only difference is that Americans have justifiable cause to retain those rights while Murphy is relying on his insignificant and moronic feelings.
