Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue, director of the Michigan State Police, was pressured by the politically correct Left into apologizing for a Facebook post criticizing NFL football players for the #TakeAKnee protests that many of the wealthy athletes participated in.
Etue said in a statement:
It was a mistake to share this message on Facebook and I sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended.
I will continue my focus on the unity at the Michigan State Police and in communities across Michigan.
Etue garnered controversy on Sunday after posting a meme on her personal Facebook page that was critical of football athletes refusing to stand for the national anthem.

According a Detroit Free Press article, the local left-wing officials became triggered by several of the phrases, including calling the wealthy athletes “millionaire ingrates who hate America and disrespect our armed forces and veterans,” and “a bunch of rich, entitled, arrogant, ungrateful, anti-American degenerates.”
Reportedly, several African-American troopers under Etue’s command were “upset” by the fact the meme was signed “we the people,” a phrase found in the Preamble of the United States Constitution.
“(The meme demonstrates a) kind of a dangerous mindset for someone in her powerful position,” said Detroit attorney Leonard Mungo, who has represented states troopers in civil suits. He continued, “(It’s) scary that they don’t understand that America is defined by its freedoms, and one of these freedoms is freedom of speech.” He adds that posting a meme, “has implications for why the state police … don’t have representative numbers of African Americans in their ranks.”

Shannon Banner, spokesperson for Etue, said, “As a public servant, Col. Etue has great respect for the armed forces and those who fight to protect our freedoms.” She added, “Etue did not create the post. It’s a meme that is posted in other places around the Internet.”
