Marianne Williamson Most Googled Name Following Tuesday Night Debate

People just can’t get enough of the cosmic sorceress that is 2020 candidate Marianne Williamson, who became the most Googled name following the Democratic Party presidential debate on Tuesday night after she vowed to fight the “dark psychic force” that is Trump’s America.

“Marianne Williamson was the most searched candidate during Tuesday night’s Democratic debates, according to Google Trends,” reports The Hill. “Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) came in second, followed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg.”

The self-help guru and former “Oprah” regular played the outsider card to mass effect on Tuesday night — often to the tune of her scolding Democrats for not understanding the internal sickness plaguing America, whether it be on health care or race relations.

“If you think any of this wonkiness is going to deal with this dark psychic force of the collectivized hatred that this president is bringing up in this country, then I’m afraid that the Democrats are going to see some very dark days,” Williamson said at the debate, eliciting massive applause from the audience.

No doubt, of all the candidates at the debate on Tuesday, Williamson garnered the most audience enthusiasm. People on Twitter quickly took notice, declaring her the inarguable winner of the night.

“People are gonna think that I’m trolling but compared to what else is up on this stage. I think Marianne Williamson is actually winning this thing,” Donald Trump Jr. tweeted. “This is amazing. No question she seems to be drawing the biggest applause of the night.”

“There was one winner tonight, and it wasn’t even close. Marianne Williamson is all anyone was talking about, and if she’s not in the 3rd debate the DNC is rigging these primaries just like they did in 2016 against Bernie,” tweeted Josh Jordan.

“I’m happy that [Marianne Williamson] is receiving serious attention today. She is smart, devoted, and patriotic. And too many people write her off before they even listen to a word she says,” tweeted Maria Shriver.

Williamson’s most substantive moment — perhaps even most conservative — came when she highlighted that public or privatized health insurance will fix nothing, so long as Americans keep getting unnecessarily sick.

“Everything that we’re talking about here tonight is what’s wrong with American politics, and the Democratic Party needs to understand that we should be the party that talks not just about symptoms but also about causes,” said Williamson. “When we’re talking about health care, we need to talk about more than just the health care plan. We need to realize we have a sickness care, rather than a health care system. We need to be the party talking about why so many of our chemical policies and our food policies and our agricultural policies and our environmental policies and even our economic policies are leading to people getting sick to begin with.”

Williamson also showed some sense when she said that the “Medicare-for-All” plan pushed by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren will backfire against Democrats if they were to run on that platform.

“I do have concern about what the Republicans would say,” she said. “And that’s not just a Republican talking point. I do have concern that it will be difficult. I have concern that it will make it harder to win, and I have a concern that it’ll make it harder to govern. Because if that’s our big fight, then the Republicans will so shut us down on everything else.”
