Man Charged For Smashing ATM. You’ll Never Guess The Reason Why.

In late November, a young man from Florida repeatedly punched an ATM machine for not performing its job properly — it gave him too much cash.

On Friday, Michael Joseph Oleksik, 23, was charged with criminal mischief for punching that Wells Fargo ATM in Cocoa, Florida, causing at least $5,000 in damages.

The video of the incident from November 29 shows Oleksik, from Rockledge, who is 5’11” and 135 pounds, repeatedly striking the touch screen of the machine. Oleksik called the bank and apologized, telling a manager that he mauled the ATM because “he was angry the ATM was giving him too much money and he did not know what to do.”

Oleksik said he was in a hurry to get to work at the time. He had previous charges of resisting officers in 2013 and 2014.

Olekisk’s assault of an ATM was not unique, as seen here, here, and the winner and still champion, here.
