The Loudon County Public Schools board was under fire during its public meeting Tuesday night, following a blockbuster report from The Daily Wire alleging that the district covered up a sexual assault that happened in one of its high schools. Parents and other individuals logged on to the meeting to blast the board for “hiding evidence” of the assault.

Fight for Schools Loudoun County, which has been pressing for a recall of the full school board, also demanded that the full board resign in the wake of the explosive report.

“More than 60 concerned parents, students, and residents spoke at the Loudoun County School Board meeting Tuesday evening, with many demanding the resignation of Loudoun County Superintendent Scott Ziegler in the wake of allegations that the school district covered up two alleged sexual assaults,” Fox News noted Wednesday morning.

Each person with comment was required to enter the board room by themselves, and each person was given just one minute to speak.

The comment portion of the meeting became contentious almost immediately, with most of the ire directed at Loudoun County Superintendent Scott Ziegler, who notably said, in a meeting over the summer, that LCPS did not have “any record of assaults occurring in our restrooms,” in reference to concerns that opening girls-only bathrooms to students who identify as female could expose students to danger.

“This is not China, this is the United States of America, and we will not be silenced,” one woman, who claimed to be a mother of an LCPS student told the board. “Remove the superintendent immediately and then resign for your negligence and duplicity. End this nightmare!”

“The [transgender bathroom policy] was rushed through to a vote without consideration for the safety of all students, simply to satisfy a liberal agenda — a policy that you knew full well would allow our children to be abused inside our schools,” another woman, who said she also had children in LCPS, told the board, adding that Ziegler’s “moral compass is busted” and accused the board of being “complicit” in the two alleged sexual assaults that occurred in area high schools “because you did nothing about it.”

“There is something seriously wrong with a system that prioritizes reporting a rape internally to the superintendent so that they can control the narrative instead of calling the police,” another self-described parent added.

“Hiding evidence and every parent from LCPS about a heinous sexual assault of a student that occurred in a bathroom so you could pass radical policy 8040 is more important to you than protecting the dignity and safety of our children against the likelihood of a repeat occurrence,” added another, referencing the transgender bathroom policy.

“What is worse than a child being raped at school? The coverup by those who are trusted with the safety and well-being of children,” another parent said. “Today, Scott Ziegler must resign for the unconscionable act of allowing an alleged rapist back into school to rape again, and for that coverup.”

Another pointed out that school members knew of the alleged bathroom rape when they held the meeting to discuss the transgender bathroom policy.

Finally, one parent called the board “a blight on our country and our schools” and demanded, “you should all resign immediately.”

The Loudoun County Sheriff confirmed The Daily Wire’s reporting on Tuesday, noting in a statement to media that, “We can confirm a May 28, 2021 case that involved a thorough 2-month-long investigation that was conducted to determine the facts of the case prior to arrest. This case is still pending court proceedings. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is not able to provide any documents that pertain to a pending case.”

School board members have, thus far, refused to comment. A spokesperson for Ziegler told Fox News only that the “incidents were reported immediately to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, and LCPS cooperated fully with the investigations” and that “information related to student information is confidential under state and federal laws regarding student privacy.”
