Feminist celebrity Lena Dunham put on a swimsuit for her latest photoshoot following the nude photo pics she posted on social media several weeks ago in honor of her hysterectomy.
According to Page Six, the swimsuit photos were taken by model Emily Ratjakowski as part of a new campaign for her brand Inamorata Swim, which features Dunham.
“In the images, the 32-year-old actress wears a leopard-print version of the ‘Swami’s‘ suit, a belted one-piece with a slightly ruched bandeau top and an ultra-high-cut leg that retails for $160,” reports Page Six.
The images were shared on Dunham’s Instagram account along with the following caption: “That time @emrata made me a full oiled up swimsuit issue chick for @inamorataswim. I’ve loved Emily forever because she’s wise, kind, gets how complex feminism and femininity are and gives the perfect amount of f—ks. Honored to get behind her.”
Ratajkowski said she was “honored” to take photos of Lena Dunham in a swimsuit and said the following on Dunham’s post, “You look amazing. Honored to know you and to have you be a part of this!”
In mid-August, Dunham posted nude photos of herself in honor of a hysterectomy she received following a battle with endometriosis.
“Today is National Leathercraft Day, National Relaxation Day and National Lemon Meringue Pie Day. It’s also the 9 month anniversary of my hysterectomy,” wrote Dunham, captioning three nude photos. “I’ve never celebrated the 9 month anniversary of anything and I realized last night why that number feels so funny — I won’t ever do it the way I planned to.”
“My body is mostly healed and every day I find a new bruise on my heart, but today I offer myself gratitude: from the most pained place, I somehow knew to choose myself,” she continued. “The purest glint of who we are and know we can be is always available to us, calm and true at our center.”
