After creating a culture overflowing with hyper-sensitivity and fraudulent victimhood, where almost anything can be construed as racist or sexist or transphobic, leftist are reaping what they’ve sown—and it’s highly entertaining.
Actress and outspoken political left-winger Bette Midler took serious heat from fellow leftists on Saturday after sending out a now-deleted comedic tweet concerning the cancellation of transgender icon Caitlyn Jenner’s reality TV show I Am Cait.
“Now that [I Am Cait] has been cancelled, will she go back to being Bruce?” Midler joked.
The actress also added a knock to Kris Jenner, a woman known to be so driven by fame and money that she even exploited and profited off of her own daughter’s sex tape. “Will Kris take him back? Do I smell a re-wedding?!” she wrote.
Apparently it was the “he” pronoun that ticked off the left-leaning social justice warriors most; they went nuts on Midler, spitting out a barrage of tweets scolding the actress for her “transphobic mindset.”
After the backlash, Midler deleted the tweet and issued an apology of sorts via Twitter.
“DEAR FRIENDS @HRC (Human Rights Commission), WHOM I HAVE ALWAYS SUPPORTED,” wrote Midler. “SORRY LAST TWEET OFFENDED. AN IDLE MUSING. I SEEM TO HAVE MISREAD THE TEMPER OF THE TIMES.”
Many found her apology misdirected, as she addressed the Human Rights Commission and not Caitlyn Jenner.
Interestingly enough, there is seemingly a simple explanation for Midler’s half-hearted apology: Midler hates Jenner for his right-wing ideology. After Jenner announced he was a Republican, the oh-so-tolerant actress blasted him via social media for his audacity to vote with the GOP.
Last week, comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was called racist by fellow leftists after tweeting out a comical photo-shopped picture of her and the fastest man alive, Usain Bolt.
It’s truly hard to muster up any sympathy for those like Midler and DeGeneres—the same people quick to label conservatives racist, bigoted and transphobic for simply disagreeing with them.
