On Friday, WikiLeaks released excerpts of Hillary Clinton’s paid speeches to Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and other major players—speeches which ultimately netted her some $22 million. One revelation: she admitted in 2014 that foreign countries were trying to hack her personal emails. Another eye-opening admission came during a speech she delivered in Canada in 2015, in which she revealed her true objective in healthcare reform: imposing Canadian-style universal healthcare in America.
In a (no doubt quite lucrative) speech for tinePublic Inc. in Saskatoon, Canada on Jan. 1, 2015, Clinton made clear that her intent was not simply to shore up Obamacare, but rather to “keep moving forward” with the ultimate goal of installing a single-payer, government-controlled healthcare system “like you have here in Canada“:
“So we’re in a learning period as we move forward with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. And I’m hoping that whatever the shortfalls or the glitches have been, which in a big piece of legislation you’re going to have, those will be remedied and we can really take a hard look at what’s succeeding, fix what isn’t, and keep moving forward to get to affordable universal healthcare coverage like you have here in Canada.”
The glimpse behind the Clinton curtain ends up revealing a lot what we thought we’d see, a deeply dishonest politician who spends a lot of energy obfuscating her true intentions.
As Daily Wire editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro points out, another notable moment came in a speech delivered at the University of Connecticut in April 2014, in which Clinton ironically blasted Edward Snowden for leaking material “intentionally or unintentionally” to foreign entities, despite having admitted to exposing State Department secrets by using her unapproved, unsecured private email server.
“I think turning over a lot of that material intentionally or unintentionally, because of the way it can be drained, gave all kinds of information not only to big countries, but to networks and terrorists groups, and the like,” said Clinton, apparently straight-faced.
