Kanye West definitely got everyone’s attention Thursday when he announced that he “absolutely” sees politics in his future plans — following his brief presidential run in 2020.

During the 45-year-old rapper’s interview with “Good Morning America,” West was asked whether he had “future political aspirations” after running for president in the 2020 election against then-President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Less than two weeks later, he dropped out of the race, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“Yes,” the rapper replied. “Absolutely.”

That was the end of his answer in the clip. However, the outlet noted that he wouldn’t answer when that might be and said simply, “that time wasn’t in God’s time.” It is unclear from the response what he meant by that answer, and whether he was saying that his prior short-lived run “wasn’t in God’s time.”

In the clip, the reporter just noted that for now West, who is also known as Ye, plans to open his first Yeezy store in Atlanta after recently cutting ties with Gap and Adidas.

In another part of the piece that aired during the morning show, West apologized for all the stress he’d caused his ex-wife Kim Kardashian — who he said is trying to raise their four children following their divorce in 2021.

“This is the mother of my children, and I apologize for any stress that I have caused, even in my frustration, because God calls me to be stronger,” West shared. “But also ain’t nobody else gonna be causing no stress either.”

“I need this person to be less stressed and of the best, sound mind and as calm as possible to be able to raise those children at the end of the day,” he added.

West talked about having a voice when it comes to coparenting his children with “The Kardashians” star, but said he had to fight for it, “That hurts you when you have to scream about what your kids are wearing.”

“As a dad and as a Christian,” Kanye shared, the outlet reported.  “And I have a right to have a voice on what my kids are wearing, what they’re watching, what they’re eating. I have a platform where I get to say what so many dads can’t say out loud.”

The interview clip was part of a larger ABC News Live piece titled, “A Conversation with Ye: Linsey Davis reporting” that will air on the network and Hulu in primetime Thursday.
