Country music group Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum) announced Thursday that it had canceled the remaining concert dates for their Request Line Tour due to a band member’s “journey to sobriety.”

The music trio — made up of bandmates Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood — explained on Twitter that to be supportive of Kelley, they would be postponing the rest of the tour until spring 2023.

“We have decided to postpone our Request Line Tour until next year,” the message on social media read. “Being on the road with our fans is our greatest joy, so it was a hard but important decision to make.”

“We are a band, but more importantly…we’re family,” it added. “We’re proud to say that Charles has embarked on a journey to sobriety. So, right now in order to be the healthiest, strongest and most creative band we can be, Lady A will take the time with the support of our families and team of professionals to walk through this together.”

“It’s early on this road, but we are determined to do what will best set us up for many more years together,” the statement continued. “We’re grateful for your patience.⁣⁣ This update is coming in real time, but in the coming days, your point of purchase will be in touch with new ticket information. We’re looking forward to making 2023 our best year yet!⁣⁣ With love,⁣⁣ Lady A.”

In 2019, Kelley spoke with People magazine about a song he helped write on the group’s album, “Ocean,” called “Be Patient With My Love.” The singer described the song as an “autobiography” detailing his struggle to find sobriety.

“Just really struggling with my drinking, struggling with my spirituality, and what I really wanted to get out of this life and just being bored,” the artist shared at the time.

“It took me a little while to get my priorities back and in check,” he added.  “Once you let go of all that stuff and open up about it, it’s amazing how much love and positivity really come shining in, and it brought us a lot closer together.”
