The openly gay Prime Minister of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, has promised to promote the LGBT agenda upon Pope Francis’ visit to the World Meeting of Families later this month in Ireland.
Under Varadkar’s leadership, Ireland has quickly fallen down the rabbit hole into a leftist pit; the country has legalized abortion, which Varadkar now plans to force Catholic hospitals into providing. In his next act, Varadkhar will try (in vain) to persuade the Pope on a matter the Pope has already spoken out on and is forcefully against.
The Vatican-sponsored World Meeting of Families specifically rejected the presence of openly homosexual couples and homosexual couples with children as speakers. For this, Varadkar will tell the Pope he must accept that the times are changing.
Speaking with The Journal, Varadkar said he would express “our views as a society and a government that families come in all sorts of different forms and that includes families that are… by same-sex parents and other families as well.”
Varadkar also said that “if the opportunity arises, I will certainly want to express to him the real concerns Irish people have in relation to the legacy of the past, in relation to issues such as the church’s involvement in Magdalene laundries, mother-and-baby homes, and sexual and physical abuse.”
According to LifeSiteNews, Irish LGBT activists have expressed outrage “over the removal of images of same-sex couples as well as pro-homosexual texts from a reissued booklet created by the country’s bishops to prepare Catholic families for the WMF in Dublin.”
The original images included “a picture of two lesbians on a bridge clinging intimately to one another,” and text that contained “explicit promotion of homosexual relationships as a form of family.”
Ireland is the first country in the world to overturn traditional marriage and abortion by way of popular vote.
