HIDDEN CHARLOTTESVILLE: Antifa Concussed A Journalist And Then Lied About It On Facebook

During an Antifa protest march against white supremacism in Richmond, Virginia, one of the members of that charming group attacked a journalist. Here’s the video:

The reporter had to receive four staples:

Antifa promptly posted a statement on Facebook chock full of lies:

Antifa alleged that the journalist “was not working at the time so we can only assume he was drinking and made one bad choice after the next. … This man ran at a crowd that was holding space for our murdered comrade with just his iPhone. Due to the intensity and context of this time people are very scared of white men running full speed at them with iPhones as this is the exact behavior of a white supremacist trying to out identify people of color and anti fascists in order to invoke fear.”

This is obviously nonsense, and you can see that it’s nonsense from the video. But Antifa traffics in lies, and they’ve been receiving nearly-universal praise from the media — so far, only Jake Tapper of CNN has had the honesty to tweet about it.

Antifa is a violent communist/anarchist group, and their participation in violence at events across the country has ratcheted up tensions and resulted in destruction of property and injury to other people. President Trump was right to condemn them in Charlottesville, where they were indeed violent.

Conservatives have universally condemned white supremacists; the Left should be asked to do the same with Antifa, instead of praising it as some sort of decent and useful palliative for white supremacism.
