Legendary running back Herschel Walker, who is running as a Republican for the U.S. Senate seat in Georgia, denounced recent comments from former President Donald Trump after he said that Republicans would not vote in the next two elections if “we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020.”
Walker, who was endorsed by Trump, was asked about Trump’s remarks during an interview this week with Brian Kilmeade on Fox News Radio.
“Is that the right message?” Kilmeade asked. “Don’t vote if things aren’t perfect?”
“That is not the right message,” Walker said. “I think everyone’s got to get out and vote. You know, we can’t look at the past. We can’t continue to look at the past. And that’s what I’ve tried to tell people and, you know, President Trump, I’m very honored that he endorsed me because he know I’m the right man for the job.”
“But he also knows Herschel Walker is going to do it Herschel Walker’s way, meaning I’m gonna go out and I’m gonna run for the seat,” Walker added. “This is not Donald Trump running for it, it’s Herschel Walker running for it. Because, you know, I’ve done the things that I think I need to do. And I know about this country, and I’m going to go out and fight for this country and fight for the state of Georgia.”

BRIAN KILMEADE, FOX NEWS RADIO HOST: Can you talk about how you’ve been received and what is it been like? You’re doing something you’ve never done before, run for office.
HERSCHEL WALKER, U.S. SENATE CANDIDATE (R): Well first of all, you know, people ask why am I running and I say, ‘look around you,’ do people see what’s going on? And you spoke about it earlier with inflation going off the roof, you know, crime has gotten absolutely terrible right now. We’re teaching kids to hate America, and you’re gonna ask me why am I running? I’m running because this is not America. This is not the America I grew up in. And things are going very well [on the campaign], in five and a half weeks, we raised over $3.7 million, which is very, very good. We on track with the left, you know, it’s going to be tough. That’s why I continue to ask people to continue to go to a team Herschel dot com, you know, help me to get [inaudible]. What’s happening to this country is a shame.
KILMEADE: So WSB carries us, so people in Georgia know and we have another, we have two other great stations in Georgia. Talking with Herschel Walker, Herschel, the president of the United States said last week the former president, Donald Trump, who endorsed you and pushed you to run, ‘if we don’t solve the presidential election fraud of 2020, Republicans will not be voting in 2022 or 2024.’ Is that the right message? Don’t vote if things aren’t perfect?
WALKER: That is not the right message. I think everyone’s got to get out and vote. You know, we can’t look at the past. We can’t continue to look at the past. And that’s what I’ve tried to tell people and, you know, President Trump, I’m very honored that he endorsed me because he know I’m the right man for the job. But he also knows Herschel Walker is going to do it Herschel Walker’s way, meaning I’m gonna go out and I’m gonna run for the seat. This is not Donald Trump running for it, it’s Herschel Walker running for it. Because, you know, I’ve done the things that I think I need to do. And I know about this country, and I’m going to go out and fight for this country and fight for the state of Georgia.
