Location, location, location.
One San Diego-area Girl Scout just learned how the oft-used real estate mantra can apply to selling cookies, too. And she didn’t need to go to business school to learn it. No, she just had to understand the culinary habits of people high on (legal) weed.
On Friday, San Diego marijuana dispensary Urbn Leaf posted a photo on Instagram of a girl outside the store’s front entrance wearing the classic Girl Scouts’ green vest with badges and holding two armfuls of boxes of Girl Scout cookies.
“Get some Girl Scout Cookies with your GSC today until 4pm!” wrote Urbn Leaf. GSC is a type of marijuana named after the iconic cookies.
The girl’s father told 10News in San Diego that the young entrepreneur sold more than 300 boxes in about six hours. Not a bad haul at around $5 per box.
Girl Scouts San Diego said last week that the girl was following rules as long as she set up her wagon off the dispensary’s property. But, the Associated Press reported Monday, Girl Scouts San Diego is now looking into whether the girl broke any rules.
“Officials were trying to identify the girl and talk to her family because she was in a commercial area, which is not allowed, council spokeswoman Mary Doyle said in an email Monday,” the AP reported.
