A sports media rant featuring football legend Tom Brady went viral just days after he announced his post-retirement plan: a spot on Fox Sports.

In the video, released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady appears to explain that blowing off the comments and analyses of television commentators after a loss helps to keep them from getting in his head while he needs to remain focused on the game.

Brady said that while he does watch the critics after a loss, he doesn’t do it to hear their advice.

“I just look at the TV and I go like this,” Brady said, flipping both middle fingers at the camera.

“F*** you guys, f*** you TV,” Brady continued, flashing a smile.

He went on to add, “You block out the noise because none of it matters. And what we do is get back to what we did all year. Still not perfect, but football’s not a game of perfect. Um, we always expect to be at our best. We had a tough loss. You ignore what they think and you just move on, man. You fight for another day.”

And Brady is planning to fight — for at least a few more days — despite announcing his retirement from the NFL.

“I have always believed the sport of football is an ‘all-in’ proposition – if a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed and success is what I love so much about our game,” Brady wrote on Instagram in early February.

“This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention,” he added.

But Brady had a change of heart, announcing just six weeks later that he would return to Tampa Bay for his 23rd NFL season.

“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG,” he tweeted.

Fox Sports later announced that when Brady did eventually retire, he would be taking on a role at the network as lead NFL analyst. “Over the course of this long-term agreement, Tom will not only call our biggest NFL games with Kevin Burkhardt, but will also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives,” Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch stated.
