In an interview published on Monday at Vulture, aging rapper and ardent anti-Trumper Eminem said that he often uses Grindr to find dates. This left many scratching their heads, since Grindr is “the world’s largest social networking app for gay, bi, trans, and queer people,” according to their own site.
Eminem, as you might recall, has a host of lyrics that have expressed blatant homophobia.
Discussing dating with the outlet, the rapper was asked if he uses Tinder, a popular hook-up app to find dates. “Yeah, Tinder,” he replies. “And Grindr. I also used to go to strip clubs.”

It’s tough. Since my divorce I’ve had a few dates and nothing’s panned out in a way that I wanted to make it public. Dating’s just not where I’m at lately.When you were dating, how’d you meet people? Tinder?
I mean, yeah.Are you being serious?
Yeah, Tinder.Really?
[Laughs] And Grindr. I also used to go to strip clubs.
Some on social media took the response as Eminem “coming out,” while others thought the artist was joking.
The Vulture interview first garnered attention from right-wing media because the washed-up rapper obsessed with Trump pathetically said he had “lines ready” about the president if he were to ever respond to his repeated insults and attacks.
“You’ve got the tweets pre-written?” Vulture asked Eminem about Trump. He replied:
I’m not going to give any away now, but I’ve got lines ready if he says something about me. I get almost flustered thinking about him — that’s how angry he makes me. The people that support him are the people he cares about the least and they don’t even realize it. At what point do you — a working-class citizen, someone who’s trying to make shit better for you and your family — think this guy who’s never known struggle his entire fucking life, who avoided the military because of bone spurs, who says he’s a billionaire, is really looking out for you? He’s got people brainwashed.
