WASHINGTON — The Department of Homeland Security reportedly shared intelligence with the Catholic Church about a “Night of Rage” following the possible overturn of Roe v. Wade that will target churches and pregnancy centers.

Newsweek obtained an internal document from the Diocese of Stockton in California directed to clergy, parish, and pastoral staff.

The document obtained by Newsweek reportedly shows that DHS agent Jesse Rangel warned the California diocese of an “extremist” group’s manifesto that calls for attacks on churches that will begin at 8 p.m. on the day that the court releases an opinion in Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

It is widely believed that the court will overturn Roe v. Wade, following the leak of an internal draft opinion indicating that the court would do so.

The DHS agent reportedly told the diocese that “large groups with cells nationwide have already been discovered ‘casing’ parishes, including here in California.”

And the diocese warned clergy that they must be on “critical notice” and “develop a plan should you see or hear anything suspicious.”

“Make sure you have ushers and or security available during your services and perhaps identify who among your volunteers and parishioners are law enforcement,” the memo said, according to Newsweek. “Suspicious activity would include someone asking out of place questions (Largest Mass times? Doors always open? Do you have security?), looking around church property, protestors, and general disturbances.”

The diocese did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

DHS has not responded to requests for comment from The Daily Wire or confirmed this report, but a June 7 terrorism advisory warned that DHS expects “several high-profile events could be exploited to justify acts of violence against a range of possible targets.”

“These targets could include public gatherings, faith-based institutions, schools, racial and religious minorities, government facilities and personnel, U.S. critical infrastructure, the media, and perceived ideological opponents,” DHS warned.

The report comes as Republicans call on the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security to designate members of the pro-abortion organization Jane’s Revenge as domestic terrorists.

More than 20 pregnancy resource centers and offices of pro-life groups have been attacked or vandalized since the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion indicating that the justices are likely to overturn Roe v. Wadeaccording to Catholic Vote.

The militant abortion group Jane’s Revenge has claimed responsibility for a number of these attacks, and last week allegedly issued a radical missive promising to continue violent attacks on pro-life clinics and organizations.

And in a late May missive posted to The Anarchist Library, Jane’s Revenge purportedly urged activists “to express this madness fully and with ferocity. We need to quit containing ourselves.”

“Whatever form your fury takes, the first step is feeling it,” the missive said. “The next step is carrying that anger out into the world and expressing it physically. Consider this your call to action.”

The FBI has told The Daily Wire that while it would not comment on specific groups, the bureau is “investigating a series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers and faith-based organizations across the country.”

In the purported Jane’s Revenge missive posted by Abolition Media, the abortion activists promise that they are “not one group but many.”

The message claimed responsibility for attacks on pro-life organizations and groups in “Madison WI, Ft. Collins CO, Reisertown MA, Olympia WA, Des Moines IA, Lynwood WA, Washington DC, Ashville NC, Buffalo NY, Hollywood FL, Vancouver WA, Frederick MA, Denton TX, Gresham OR, Eugene OR, Portland OR, among others.”

“We work in countless locations invisibly,” the “communique” said. “You’ve read the communiqués from the various cells, you’ve seen the proliferating messages in graffiti and elsewhere, and you know that we are serious.”

The FBI had warned earlier this month that while it will protect the First Amendment rights of Americans protesting at the Supreme Court, it will not “tolerate violence, destruction, interference with government functions, or trespassing on government property.”

The warning followed the arrest of 26-year-old Nicholas John Roske of Simi Valley, California. A DOJ affidavit details how Roske allegedly traveled to Kavanaugh’s home armed with weapons and burglary tools with the intent to kill the justice and prevent him from ruling on Second Amendment and abortion cases.
