Cruz’s Law Students Loved Him

   DailyWire.com

Forget the slander against Ted Cruz from establishment Republicans, the media, and Donald Trump who have their own ulterior motives for declaring Ted Cruz unlikeable; his students at the University of Texas not only liked him immensely, they regarded him as an extraordinary teacher.

In documents found within Cruz’s faculty file, as reported by Buzzfeed, the comments of students showed them impressed not only by Cruz’s capacity to dispense useful information; they also delineated how much the students liked Cruz personally.

Teacher evaluations asked the students to rate Cruz on a five-point scale with regard to how well his course on Supreme Court litigation was organized (Cruz received 4.8), how effectively he communicated information (4.9), allowing the students freedom of expression (4.9) and how much the student thought the course was of value (5.0). The course was given a unanimous 5.0 rating.

Most importantly, the students rated Cruz’s interest in student progress at an almost perfect 4.8. Even the few students who did not give him the highest mark available agreed he was genuinely interested in their progress.

One student wrote, “Great Class! Best class I have had in Law School. Good info about Supreme Court. Never got as good of background before about justices. Fantastic course – thanks so much for taking the time to teach.” Another added, “It was an invaluable experience. “ A third wrote, “Wonderful class for students interested in litigation. Great class. Extremely fun and I learned a lot.” Another opinion: “This course was excellent. I have so much more respect both for my classmates and those who actually practice appellate work.”

References listed in the file include one from John C. Eastman, then law professor at Chapman University, asserting, “I have no doubt that Ted will combine these experiences into a highly educational course offering. Moreover, his outgoing personality will, I think be quite well-received by students. Congratulations on considering such a well-qualified candidate for your adjunct faculty.

Nicole Garnett, who was an associate professor of Notre Dame Law School at the time, added, “I’ve come to admire Ted as a person of the highest moral character. Your students would be lucky to have him as a teacher.”

His students at the University of Texas not only liked him immensely, they regarded him as an extraordinary teacher.

When one sees that students, who had nothing to gain as they were anonymous, praised Cruz as a teacher and a person, it becomes ever clearer that the attacks on Cruz personally from media, the establishment GOP, and other candidates simply derive from their need to gain politically from damaging him.
