Former president Barack Obama played 333 rounds of golf while in the White House. That’s a round nearly every week of every month of the eight years he was in office.
Of course, the media that worshipped The Chosen One rarely filmed him as he played.
But President Trump is different. In a creepy video — dubbed “EXCLUSIVE” — CNN aired footage of President Trump playing golf on the day after Christmas. The video appears to be have been shot through some bushes or from behind a stand of trees.
The video was touted on Twitter by “fake news” CNN reporter Manu Raju, who said the film was “captured by CNN cameras.”
Manu Raju, you’ll remember, was responsible for the erroneous CNN report earlier this month that Donald Trump Jr. and senior Trump campaign officials — possibly even Trump himself — received an email on September 4, 2016, directing them to what CNN said were unreleased WikiLeaks documents that may have been hacked from the Democratic National Committee.
But the date was wrong — and the date was the whole story. Turns out the email was sent on September 14. WikiLeaks dumped a trove of documents on September 13, so someone sending Trump Jr. an email on the 14th — the day after the dump — means that someone was simply alerting him to the fact that there were documents out there, publicly available.
Raju was forced to put out an embarrassing correction — but there were no consequences from CNN for reporting such a horribly wrong story.
By the way, while Trump plays to a 2.6 handicap (which means he’s shooting close to par every time he plays — quite a feat for a 70 year old), Obama was a notoriously bad golfer, as shown in the clip below — listen for the photographer to say “Boy, he sucks!” with a hearty laugh as he and another guy giggle. The cell phone flying off the belt is also hilarious, as are the massive divots.
Also interesting was the day Obama jumped off to the golf course immediately after speaking about the beheading of an American journalist.
In a “Meet the Press” interview in 2014, Obama said he “should have anticipated the optics” because “part of the job is the theater of it,” conceding “it’s not something that comes naturally” to him.
The optics. That’s what Obama was concerned about, not the brutal beheading of James Foley, killed as a payback for U.S. airstrikes against the terror group ISIS.
But to the MSM, everything Obama did was right, everything Trump does is wrong.
