CNN Exonerates Clinton Over Benghazi

Left-wing CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield dismissed the draft report released on Tuesday by the Select Committee on Benghazi by scoffing at its cost and the length of time spent in its composition. The report sought to provide a detailed accounting of governmental policies, decisions, and activities that contributed the September 11, 2012 Islamic terrorist attack on the diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.

Joined by her colleague Dana Bash, Banfield fretted over the inability to consolidate the report’s findings into a single headline.

“I can pin it down into this sentence. Seven million dollars to learn that government is big and bulky? How about that?” asked Banfield rhetorically.

“And you know what? I’m just gonna wrap it up with with Trey Gowdy’s own words. You ready? He said this, ‘Congress does a lousy job of conducting apolitical non-partisan investigations, and the American people deserve better.’ There’s the headline, Dana! There’s the headline from all of this,” scoffed Banfield.

No contemplation was offered by either Banfield or Bash over the possibility that the Obama Administration opted against a rescue attempt for Americans in peril during the Benghazi attack. With less than two months remaining before the year’s presidential election, a risk-averse president might fear a military operation gone awry.

During a Tuesday press conference on Capitol Hill, Bash asked Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) if the committee’s investigation failed to secure “the goods” to place blame for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi on the Obama Administration.

“The flip side of that could be that because you chose not to draw conclusions, does that suggest that you don’t have the goods on placing any blame on the administration, specifically the woman who wants to be the President of the United States?” asked Bash.

Gowdy refused to highlight the failures of the Obama Administration in its response to the Benghazi attack, aside from noting that no military assets were mobilized towards a rescue attempt for Americans in peril in a timely manner.

Rather than isolating its most important conclusions, Gowdy invited the media and Americans write large to read the committee’s 800-page report.
