Leftist Chelsea Handler claimed during an interview this week that she had no idea she was taking diabetic medication.

The comedian told Alex Cooper on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that her doctor gave her Ozempic, which is intended to treat people with type 2 diabetes, and she didn’t know what it was.

“My anti-aging doctor just hands it out to anybody, right,” she said. “And obviously now I can’t say her name, but I didn’t even know I was on it.”

Handler said that her doctor told her that if she ever wanted to lose weight fast, “this is good.”

Handler said that she injected the medication before a meeting up with a friend, and that her friend was the one that alerted her as to what she might be on.

Handler claimed that her friend said, “‘I’m not really eating anything, I’m so nauseous, I’m on Ozempic.'”

“I was like, ‘Oh, I’m kind of nauseous, too,’ and I’m like, ‘But I’m not on Ozempic,’ and she’s like, ‘Are you sure?’” Handler continued.

Handler claimed she stopped taking the drug because it was meant for “heavy people.”

“That’s too irresponsible,” she continued. “I’m an irresponsible drug user, but I’m not going to take a diabetic drug … I tried it, and I’m not going to do that.”

Handler’s remarks come after she revealed last week that she believed the sun and the moon were the same for most of her adult life.

The revelation happened when the 47-year-old comedian visited Africa with her sister.

“I told you some jokes that I love, backstage, but can you explain the one where you went to Africa?” asked comedian Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show.”

“Well, okay,” Handler responded. “The reason why I am very outspoken about not wanting to be a parent, because I don’t think I have the skills that, you know, that I’m not equipped with what it takes to answer all of those questions to children.”

“Because they don’t just ask you once. They come in and in and in,” she said. “I have enough nieces and nephews to know that I don’t have the tolerance for that kind of line of questioning about things that I really don’t even know the answers to.”

“And at a certain age when you don’t know, you know, the answers to questions, it’s too embarrassing to ask questions,” she continued. “You know, you just have to pretend, you know. And, I talk about a story that I didn’t know — and this is true — I didn’t know until I was 40 years old that the sun and the moon were not the same thing.”

Fallon noted that the story was hard to believe, given how obvious it is to most people.

“It was shocking to me as well,” Handler said. “My older sister, Simone looked up at the sky and she said, ‘Chelsea, Chelsea, look up. It’s not often you get to see the sun and the moon at the same time.’”

“And I was like Scooby-Doo,” Handler continued. “I said it — I go, ‘Wait, I go, but they’re always together.’ And as soon as I said that, she turned around, she goes, ‘What did you say?’”

Handler said she “just tried to gloss over it,” but her sister wouldn’t let it go.

“I was like, ‘Nevermind what I said, I know,’ And she said, ‘No, I need you to tell me what you think is happening between the sun and the moon,’” Handler said. “And I was like, ‘Honestly, I just assumed when the sun went down, it popped back up as the moon.’”
