Biden Struggles: Disastrous Jobs Report Shows America Is On The ‘Right Track’

Democrat President Joe Biden claimed that April’s jobs report, which was widely panned as a disaster for the administration, showed that America was “on the right track.”

“Today, there’s more evidence our economy is moving in the right direction,” Biden claimed. “But it’s clear we have a long way to go.”

Biden’s remarks come as the jobs report was described in various media reports as a “huge letdown,” “way worse than expected,” and “the biggest miss, relative to expectations, in the history of the payrolls report.”

“This month’s job numbers show we’re on the right track,” Biden claimed. “We still have a long way to go. As I said, my laser focus is on growing the nation’s economy and creating jobs.”

Biden highlighted how the economy did grow during his first few months in office and sought to portray the growth as superior to the final months of the Trump administration’s job growth but did not mention that things like having a vaccine, which was developed in historic time under the Trump administration, had an impact on the economy moving in the right direction.

Biden repeatedly stammered throughout his remarks and looked tired. Biden claimed that the report was countered “loose talk” about fears of “overheating the economy” — remarks that came shortly after left-wing CNN ran a segment that said that Americans were going to get hit with inflation on everyday goods.

Biden also attempted to downplay attacks that his stimulus was incentivizing people to not work after receiving intense criticism over the matter.

“The disappointing jobs report makes it clear that paying people not to work is dampening what should be a stronger jobs market,” the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said. “One step policymakers should take now is ending the $300 weekly supplemental unemployment benefit. Based on the Chamber’s analysis, the $300 benefit results in approximately one in four recipients taking home more in unemployment than they earned working.”

Biden’s attempt to spin the disastrous report won’t erase these headlines from across the media landscape:

The black unemployment rate increased, 18,000 manufacturing jobs were lostno construction jobs were added, unemployment for Americans without any college education increased, and women had a net loss in jobs.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said that nearly 10 million Americans, 9.8 million to be exact, remained unemployed in Biden’s economy.
