Those comprising the Hollywood “resistance” have been off the deep end for some time now, but on Thursday, Avengers director Joss Whedon set a new standard of fear-mongering when he warned that President Donald Trump might start rounding up and murdering gays.
Setting his hair on fire, Whedon linked to an ABC story about Chechen authorities rounding up and killing gays merely for their sexual orientation. “Authorities in the southern Russian republic of Chechnya have reportedly kidnapped dozens of gay men in the past month and killed at least three as part of an roundup ordered against LGBT people there,” reads the news story.
Quoting the linked tweet, the anti-Trump director warns this is “where we’re headed” in the Unites States if we don’t “resist” evil Trump:
As per usual with the Left, the hysteria over Trump here is without merit. As noted by Christian Toto, “Trump has been more open to the LGBT community than other GOP leaders. He reportedly appointed an openly gay man, Rick Grenell, as a NATO ambassador. He leans on adviser Peter Thiel, the openly gay co-founder of PayPal. And Trump told CBS late last year he was “fine” with same-sex marriage being legal in the U.S.”
Whedon is clearly still struggling to come to terms with Trump’s November win. After all, the man worked overtime during election season to (unsuccessfully) “stop Trump.” In September, for example, Whedon directed an unwatchable PSA filled with obnoxious Hollywood stars lecturing middle America on how no-good and “racist” Trump is.
This embarrassing video of course helped Trump, but was still an A for effort from Whedon.
