Amy Schumer’s Leftism Made Her Box Office Poison

   DailyWire.com

The queen of smelly vagina jokes is quickly becoming the queen of box office jokes. Fresh off her box office fail “Snatched” from last year, comedienne Amy Schumer is set for yet another box office fail with her upcoming film “I Feel Pretty,” in which she plays a woman who suddenly sees herself as a sexy bombshell following a head injury.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Schumer’s new movie won’t match the openings of her past two big-screen comedies when it hits theaters this weekend.”

If the forecasts prove correct, Schumer’s latest comedy will debut in the $13 million to $15 million range this weekend, down from her last film “Snatched,” which debuted to a miserable $19.5 million. While film quality is certainly a factor, some of the blame must be laid at the feet of Schumer’s loud-mouthed leftism.

Since rising to the top with her Comedy Central sketch show “Inside Amy Schumer,” the cousin of Sen. Chuck Schumer has pushed heavy gun control, endorsed radical feminism at the “Women’s March,” and characterized Trump supporters as “rich, entitled white people” and “very poor people who’ve been tricked into it.”

Schumer’s politics became so toxic during one of her comedy routines, it prompted as many as 200 Trump-supporting fans to boo her and walk out of her show.

Both Schumer and all of Hollywood have yet to learn that alienating half your customer base with rude insults will only encourage them to stay home.

It doesn’t help that Schumer takes no responsibility for her comedy fails. For instance, when her Netflix special, “The Leather Special,” debuted last year, it received a deluge of one-star negative reviews and a horrid 2.9 rating on IMDB. Rather than admit she delivered a dud, Schumer blamed her fail on organized alt-right trolls.

“The alt-right organized trolls attack everything I do,” the comedienne wrote on Instagram. “They organize to get my ratings down. Meeting in sub Reddit rooms. They tried on my book and movies and tv show. And I want to thank them.”

Compare the above numbers with Schumer’s 2015 star vehicle “Trainwreck,” which debuted to $30.1 million and went on to earn $140.8 million globally. In just three years, Schumer has taken a massive nosedive professionally while upping her rhetoric politically. All around, it’s a bad mixture, as former box office queen Jennifer Lawrence can boast. At one point, Schumer had been slated for the title role in the upcoming “Barbie” movie, but those plans were laid to rest just last year around the time Schumer’s falling out with American audiences hit the headlines.

Schumer’s latest comedy, “I Feel Pretty,” has also been hurt by online backlash from some feminists, who claim the movie endorses body-shaming. Should the movie be a critical and financial failure, Schumer has already blamed the online trolls.

“There will be a movement on Reddit to try and get the movie voted down, to actually hurt me,” said Schumer. “But I’m not going to let that slow me down.”
