Hillary Clinton was compared to Jesus Christ by Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) during his speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday in Philadelphia, PA.
Clinton's resilience in the face of adversity, implied Cleaver, resembled the Son of God.
The first person in history who wouldn’t stay throwed was a little baby born in Bethlehem of Judea, and that baby grew up, created a tumult. They put him in a grave, and three days later the world knew he wouldn’t stay throwed. Now here’s a warning to those who might be tempted to spend the next four years trying to knock Hillary Clinton down. You better get ready for a woman who won’t stay throwed! They threw her down as the first lady, but she didn’t stay throwed! They threw her down as a US senator, but she wouldn’t stay throwed! They threw her down as a secretary of state, but she wouldn’t stay throwed! They threw her down in this very campaign - this campaign - but she won’t stay throwed! No! She ain’t gonna stay throwed! She won’t stay throwed! She won’t stay throwed! You better listen to me, I said she won’t stay throwed!
Even marginal losses in support from black voters for Clinton compared for Barack Obama's 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns would lead to a Donald Trump presidency. this realization has led to more overt political messaging of a religious flavor in line with black church themes when compared with previous Democrat presidential campaigns.
Former Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa also compared Clinton to Jesus Christ, describing her as the “Good Shepherd” with respect to her support for widespread amnesty and citizenship for millions of illegal aliens.
