"I've never seen anything like that in America before," said one man who witnessed the violent mob of Donald Trump protesters who assaulted his supporters and San Jose police officers, throwing eggs, bottles, and punches, vandalizing vehicles and lighting stolen property on fire. Following the chaos, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, a Hillary Clinton supporter, excused the rioters, blaming Trump for the violence.
Despite the mainstream media's desperate hope to somehow spin or downplay the appalling violence carried out by anti-Trump thugs in San Jose Thursday, there's simply no way to mask the outrageous actions of the Leftist mob, which included protesters burning Americans flags, chanting "Make California Mexico Again," covering their faces with bandanas to hide their identities, and throwing up gang signs as they terrorized Trump supporters, destroyed private property, and wreaked havoc.
"The protesters chased and taunted Trump's supporters outside the San Jose Convention Center. They surrounded one woman and threw eggs and bottles at her," reports NBC Los Angeles. One rally attendee, Steve Tong, described the scene as "unbelievable," adding that he'd "never seen anything like that in America before."
CBS San Francisco reports that as Trump supporters attempted to get to their cars in a parking garage after leaving the convention center, "a mob mentality took over" among the anti-Trump protesters. With the police out of range, several young men attacked a man wearing a "Build The Wall" shirt, a reporter for KPIX trying to intervene to save him. The rioters then began to bang on Trump supporters' vehicles as they tried to leave the garage, smashing windows and lights, as images and video show.
"Outside again, there was another assault, and another. Street fights broke out on Almaden Avenue," reports CBS. "Andrew Acevedo, of Redwood City, said he was assaulted several times while getting stuck inside the anti-Trump protest rally."
Despite their best efforts to restore order, police were overwhelmed by the swarming mob, who chased down Trump supporters "like prey" and lit stolen hats pro-Trump paraphernalia on fire.
NBC confirmed that at least one officer was assaulted.
Despite the obscene violence of the protesters, Mayor Liccardo shamelessly attempted to shift the blame for the "dangerous and explosive situation" to Trump.
"At some point Donald Trump needs to take responsibility for the irresponsible behavior of his campaign," Liccardo told The Associated Press by phone.
