After social justice warriors attempted to disrupt a discussion on free speech at the University of Massachusetts, conservative comedian and journalist Steven Crowder gave the "professional victims" a "reality check." In the nearly five-minute, hilarious rant (video above), Crowder taught the SJWs some helpful lessons, including that their precious opinions aren't worth as much as they think and that shouting people down is not defending free speech — it's trying to block it.
At the beginning of a panel discussion which included Crowder, Christina Hoff Sommers, and openly gay conservative Milo Yiannapoulos, Crowder was supposed to get the crowd warmed up with a few jokes. However, social justice activists had already stirred up the room with their protests, so, instead, Crowder decided to school them on free speech.
"Time to listen up, you silly liberal fruitcakes," Crowder began to laughs from the raucous crowd. "I came out here, wanted to tell some jokes. Let's do some reality checks here. Do you have any idea, sir, how pathetic it must be to be you? These people wanted to come out and have a good time, hear a few jokes and thoughtful discussion — but your head pops off the pillow in the morning with, 'Oh, how can I be a professional victim today?'"
"You’re not fighting for free speech, you're not fighting for rights — you're fighting for the right to be a p***y and not hear opinions that you don't like."
After some cheers, Crowder continued: "Let me go in and screw with their act just because, oh my god, your parents didn’t tell you that your opinion wasn’t worth that much. Look, they're confused, they're confused. You know why? Because I'm not your gender studies professor who has to cater to your trigger warning, microagression, safe space bulls**t!"
Saying he didn't want to have to come out and crush them, but "you created this monster" because they "couldn't wait five minutes" for the Q&A session, Crowder when on to give them a "life lesson" on free speech and rights:
"You’re not fighting for free speech, you're not fighting for rights — you're fighting for the right to be a p***y and not hear opinions that you don't like," said Crowder.
Later in the event, after Yiannopoulos called feminism a "cancer," a feminist student proved Crowder's point by completely melting down, attempting to drown out the conservative speakers by screaming "F*** you! F*** you!" and "Keep your hate speech out of this campus!"
When the hysterical feminist screamed "Stop talking to us like children!" Sommers, responded, "Then stop acting like a child."
