On Wednesday, New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who is a Democrat, blasted the leaders of the Democratic Party for their hypocrisy in refusing to condemn openly anti-Semitic Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlab while they were denouncing GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa for his recent comments.
Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who, in one of her first acts as a member of Congress is to accuse the Jewish people of dual loyalty here in America, something that the enemies of the Jewish people going back to Nazi Germany and all over the world have used against the Jewish people.
And who is her best friend? Who does she celebrate with, but Abbas Hamideh, who is a supporter of Hezbollah, a supporter of Hamas. I’m looking at his actual tweet. The supporter of two organizations dedicated to the destruction of the State of Israel, dedicated to the destruction of the Jewish people.
Hikind referenced a tweet from Hamideh that read, “Happy Birthday to the most honorable Resistance leader of our time. Long live the courageous Arab-Muslim lion, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah!”
Then he continued, “And of course, he leads the fight to destroy the Jewish people. Let us remember that Hezbollah has been involved in an attack on American soldiers.” In 1983, in the deadliest single day for the U.S. Marines since the battle of Iwo Jima during World War II, Hezbollah was responsible for an attack in Lebanon that killed 220 Marines, 18 sailors and three soldiers.
Hikind asserted, “This is a terrorist organization as defined not just by the Trump administration, the Obama administration before, and this is who our new member of Congress associates with? On her first day she associates with those who want to murder and maim and destroy the Jewish people and destroy the State of Israel.”
Hezbollah was named a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department in 1997.
Hikind targeted Democratic leaders: “Who is speaking out? Who is standing up? Is it Nancy Pelosi? Does she have the guts? Does she have the courage to stand up regardless of any kind of politics?”
Hikind targeted Senator Chuck Schumer, who is Jewish, pointing out that his last name was close to another Hebrew word, “shomer,” which means to guard or keep: “Is it maybe, the ‘Shomer,’ the Watcher of the Jewish people, the minority leader of the United States Senate? Or is it only when it’s a Republican the Democrats speak out? Or is it only when it’s President Trump that the Democratic Party is united to condemn any kind of racism or hatred? What about within the Democratic party?”
In October, Hikind condemned New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for associating with anti-Semitic Women’s March organizer Linda Sarsour after Sarsour introduced Gillibrand at a "#CancelKavanaugh" rally.
Hikind started by quoting Sarsour’s notorious tweets in which she wrote, “Brigitte Gabriel=Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She’s asking 4 an a$$ whippin.’ I wish I could take their vaginas away — they don’t deserve to be women,” “Nothing is creepier than Zionism,” “Underwear bomber was the CIA all along,” and “Children being encouraged to throw stones — the definition of courage.”
Hikind continued, “These are the words and the tweets of Linda Sarsour, who more recently said that she was honored and privileged to be on stage with Rasmea Odeh, Rasmea Odeh was convicted in the murder of two students who were murdered in Jerusalem in a store shopping for the Sabbath. Linda Sarsour was ‘privileged’ to be with Ms. Odeh. How is it possible that my senator, Senator Gillibrand, associates with Linda Sarsour?”
Hikind stated, “Senator, you cannot sell out the principles that you have always lived by simply because you want to be president and you have to appeal to people on the extreme Left. When it comes to racism and anti-Semitism, there is no compromising.”
