Columbus Police said on Thursday that porn star Stormy Daniels' arrest on Wednesday night stemmed from a longterm investigation into human trafficking and prostitution.

In a press release, Columbus Police said that Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was charged along with two other performers with "Illegal Sexually Oriented Activity in a Sexually Oriented Business."

Officials noted that Daniels was charged with "three counts of the same violation for illegally touching three different undercover Vice detectives."

The Daily Wire reported that Daniels had allegedly "held the face of the female officer between her breasts. She also did this to a male officer. Further, Daniels allegedly 'fondled the buttocks and breasts of another officer' during the performance."

Daniel's lawyer, Michael Avenatti later claimed on Thursday that prosecutors dropped the charges against Daniels.

"I am pleased to report that the charges against my client @stormydaniels have been dismissed in their entirety (below motion was just granted)," Avenatti wrote on Twitter. "I want to thank Joe Gibson & his colleagues at the prosecutors ofc for their professionalism starting with our first call early this am."
